Madu Ratnayake

Madu is an accomplished technology executive with deep expertise in digital transformation, cybersecurity and building global high performing teams to deliver industry leading growth in high-tech and financial services companies.

Immediately prior to co-founding Scybers, Madu was part of the executive leadership team that lead Virtusa, a global digital engineering company, from start-up stage to $2B NASDAQ listed corporation with over 30,000 team members globally. As the global CIO, he led the establishment of Virtusa’s award-winning digital platform and their industry leading cybersecurity program. He led the growth of Virtusa’s Sri Lanka advanced technology center from inception to over 3,500 people as the center head. Prior to Virtusa, Madu played multiple engineering and delivery leadership roles in telecom services, petroleum, and consulting companies in the UK.

Madu is an independent director of Hatton National Bank and a board member of Sri Lanka CERT, the national cybersecurity agency. He is the former chairman of SLASSCOM, the industry chamber for IT/BPO and current advisor to the Cybersecurity Center of Excellence. Madu plays a number of advisory and board roles for startups, universities, the government and NGOs. For his pioneering contributions, Madu has been recognized among the Top 100 Global Leaders in Technology, Cybersecurity and AI by the Technology Magazine UK and Top 50 most influential CIOs in India by the CIO Council of India. Madu brings close to three decades of experience in technology and financial services industry to Scybers.

Kugan Kulothungan

Kugan is an experienced CISO with over 23 years of international experience in developing and leading cybersecurity and information security programs for a number of multinational corporations.

Prior to co-founding Scybers, Kugan played a number of senior leadership roles in financial services, technology and consulting industries. He was the chief information security risk officer at the Mox Bank, Hong Kong based digital only challenger bank, backed by Standard Chartered. For Standard Chartered Bank in Singapore and India, Kugan played the roles of information security risk officer and global head of security risk and compliance. As the first CISO at Virtusa, a global digital engineering company, Kugan was instrumental in setting up the cybersecurity program from ground up to industry leading in the technology services industry. Prior to that, Kugan was a consultant at Accenture Singapore Information Security practice, responsible for delivering information security projects in the SEA region

Kugan was an advisory board member for Cybereason, a Boston based cyber security company specializing in endpoint detection and response software and EC-Council’s International Advisory Board member for C-CISO certification. For his exceptional leadership in cybersecurity, Kugan was recognized in the Global CISO 100 List for 2020 by HotTopics and Forcepoint. Kugan brings over two decades of cybersecurity experience to Scybers.

Gopalakrishnan Subramanian

Gopal is an experienced cybersecurity and IT leader with extensive experience in risk management, data protection and privacy, information security, and audit and compliance in financial services and technology industries.

Prior to co-founding Scybers, Gopal was the Data Privacy Officer (DPO) at Virtusa, a global digital engineering company with over 30,000 people operating in 20 countries. As Virtusa’s first DPO, Gopal spearheaded the implementation of the data privacy framework to meet regulatory requirements across a number of countries including EU GDPR. Gopal also established the business continuity and disaster managed framework which was ISO 22301 certified. He is an experienced crisis management leader and successfully led business continuity through a number of global events including COVID-19.  Prior to Virtusa, Gopal held Risk management and information security leadership roles for 10 years at HSBC and Standard Chartered Bank. Gopal brings over 27 years of experience in cybersecurity to Scybers.

Deepak Chakravarthy P

Deepak is a seasoned cybersecurity specialist focused on governance, risk and compliance, data security, and business continuity.

Prior to co-founding Scybers, Deepak was instrumental in establishing a number of security programs at Virtusa, a global digital engineering company. He successfully executed security due diligence and integration for a number of mergers and acquisitions. He designed and operationalized the data loss prevention program and vendor security risk management program. He held the BISO responsibility for a number of global clients to ensure security governance and compliance including PCI-DSS and SSAE16. He was a key leader in setting up security and business continuity controls for Virtusa’s operations in Singapore, Sri Lanka, USA, UK, Germany, Hungary and Sweden leading up to ISO22301:2012 certification. Prior to Virtusa, Deepak was at Hexaware Technologies.

Deepak is an experienced FAIR methodology risk assessor and holds a master’s degree in Information Security from Royal Holloway, University of London. Deepak brings over 16 years of cybersecurity and technology experience to Scybers.
